Most hypocritical organisation competition

Tonight's nomination is the World Wildlife Fund.

They used to just be into being kind to animals (which is fine as I like animals), but they seem to have morphed a right-on political outfit, ever keen to tell us how to live. Like this:

Reduce your air travel
When you travel to your holiday destination by plane you are contributing to significant emissions of climate change causing carbon dioxide. Take vacations nearer to home, or get there by other forms of transport such as train, bus or boat. If you have to fly, consider buying carbon offsets to compensate for the emissions caused by your flight.

That's from here: http://www.panda.org/how_you_can_help/at_home/travel/index.cfm

OK, well, I suppose they're entitled to their own views. Provided they follow them as well, that is.

But what's this? The WWF is advertising a special trip April 6 - 30, 2009:

Join us on a remarkable 25-day journey by private jet. Touch down in some of the most astonishing places on the planet to see the top wildlife, including gorillas, orangutans, rhinos, lemurs and toucans. Explore natural and cultural treasures in remote areas of South America, the South Pacific, Southeast Asia and Africa.

To reach these remote corners, travel on a specially outfitted private jet that carries 88 passengers.

Travellers will visit the Amazon Rain Forest in Brazil, Easter Island, Samoa, Borneo, Laos, Nepal, Madagascar, Namibia, Uganda or Rwanda, and finish up at the luxury Dorchester Hotel in London.

From the moment I picked up your book until I laid it down, I was convulsed with laughter. Some day I intend reading it.

In an uncertain world, it's nice to have something predictable to rely on.  ;D

I'm well Nick. How's the carpentry skills coming along?  :)

If that includes 5x carbon credits then at least that's something.  Or, maybe that private jet runs on clubbed baby seal fat?  ::)

Trains may have been invented here, but public transport is a foreign concept!

Funnily enough, SWMBO hasn't asked for any more cupboards. I assume she has enough storage space, now.  ;) ;D
