PC sort of working again
« on: 13 October 2008, 10:17:14 »

This poor old PC of mine, should be sent to the PC graveyard in sky (old 3G P4)...

...but had to get it working this morning due to its com port, which is needed for a bit of Pony Prog'ing ::)

Managed to knock out a few more cambelt DVDs as well :)

Let me see now......at the office here I have two duo core 2.3GHz PCs and a Mac of some sort (first one I've played with so not a clue how to check) while back home in my real office there are:-

Dell 2xQuad Core server
HP DuoCore server
AMD Quad Core Graphics 'beast'
Duo Core Inspiron laptop
plus three other laptops and a couple of desktops

yes I'm a geek but it's fun having mates round for some networked games and I use the spare processing cycles for the distibuted computing stuff looking for anti-AIDS drugs and suchlike and there is a lot of spare cycles  :)

I have better systems available, but none that ponyprog likes.

Besides, this particular P4 has become a bit of a battle...  ...I could go out and buy a new one, but that is defeatist.

I'll have the old OOF server as a desktop once its replaced (waiting for stock)
