why bother with pattern cam cover gaskets..
« on: 25 October 2008, 10:13:42 »

... when the genuine ones are £13.19  :o

Just did a bit of shopping at my local stealer, was surprised at the invoice cost.

Got the full 2.2 cam cover gasket set, with black sealant and o-rings. The more expensive facelift pollen filter, a litre of brake fluid and a throttle body to inlet manifold gasket.

Total bill was £38!

Just got to fit it now  ::)

Perception and marketing.........

People honestly believe the cheaper is better, the likes od charlie brown and halfords give customers the impression that they are dealer quality but at a lower price.......
