kvm switch.
Allows 2 sources (pc and 360) to connect to 1 monitor (designed for 2 pc's as also switces keyboards and mouse, but works fine with a PC and and xbox). Just switch to which ever source you wish to use.

360 VGA cable, aprox 20£
Remember you need to switch sound as well.

Double edged sword Jaime.

Traded for years on being top quality and you will agree that up to the mid 90s Sony stuff was top quality. Then they had to drop prices to survive, and now is not much better than other makes.

The PS3 IS good, but my most recent DVD player is Pioneer.

To be honest Sony stuff generally still performs well but we now have the funny position of say a Sony Walkman being not the most expensive player but still near top for quality - OK Jaime Ipod or Walkman ;D ;D ;D ;D

My Sony video camera is unreliable but did perform excellently, I will replace with Sony HDV after careful analysis of cameras, yet my old SL-F1 portable still works despite being about 25 - 26 years old.

I knew you would - but then the last Sony HDD Walkmans were excellent and the new flash memory ones are quite good.

The HDD ones basically were an evolutional step along from the Minidiscs so used ATRAC and not MP3.

My HiMD is OK - well it sounds great through Sennheiser headphoness

If you only get one console and you don't have kids then I would say Xbox 360.  I was umming and ahhing on wether to get the 360 or PS3 when GTA 4 came out and I think I've made the right choice.  If you buy a new 360 the reliability should now be okay as they have changed the mother boards to a more reliable design.  If your buying used then if it has the HDMI socket on the back and it's a white (non -elite) then it will have the revised mother board.  AFAIK Elites all have HDMI but don't all have new mother board.

Xbox offers a far superior online gaming service and you can use it as a media server so it will play movies stored on your PC on your telly by streaming over a wireless network (wireless adaptor £60 ish)

Top games to look for are:

Forza Motorsport 2 - Kicks GT5's arse fully and includes endless customisable graphics on the cars.  Even has a Lotus Carlton which is a bit like an Omega.  If you squint.

Test Drive Ulimited is pretty cool.  You can drive around the entire island of Oahu in Hawaii in a number of exotic cars.

Alot of other driving games such as the Need for Speed series, Midnight Club, Grand Theft Auto 4, Colin McRae Dirt etc. aren't xbox exclusive but tbh theres so little in the the games themselves that I would plump for the Xbox because of the superior online gaming, far comfier controller and cheaper games.

gaystation 3 is the better console on the market at the moment hardware wise.

cheapest blu-ray player going, and plays games with amazing graphics. all sorts of games available, incl. some really good driving sims.

gaybox 360 is the best value ratio - hardware:price

I remember when Sega Sponsored Arsenal, the Sega and Dreamcast logo's were all removed from the Arsenal shirts in Fifa on the Playstation yet Nintendo allowed the PlayStation sponorship to saty on the Prost cars in F1 World Grand Prix...

... I'm such a geek

Sonic, Streets of rage 2 (always played as Blaze cos you could see her white knickers when she kicked!)
Is there a decent game review site that might help me make my mind up? Buying new but not bundled with games, driving, fighting, golfing quick blast games.

    BTW, anyone remember Bomberman? 8-)
