Police Auctions
« on: 26 December 2006, 15:23:43 »

Still got 5 months to go before i finish Uni, BUT i can't stop thinking about getting a megga for my Euro trip.

Maybe getting OmegaToys TD estate, but also very tempted by an ex plod V6....

I went to a BCA auction a few months ago, first time was very interesting. Never been to a police one, there seams to be one in London Enfield which i might go to in the New Year.

Has anyone been to a police auction recently? any ideas how much the Estates go for? Thinking about megga estates, possible volvo T5's...

Havent been to one myself.....but i expect they operate much the same as other auctions

As youve got time Tunnie goto 1 or 2 without buying just so you get the feel of what goes on and so you can check out the rules/operation of the auction and the av price of them

I would expect a volvo estate to fetch quite a bit more the an Omega estate even tho its a police auction.

Cheers mate, might do that in January. Another idea was getting an auction car and hopefully selling it for a profit on my return.

Looking forward to see how much they go for  ;D

T5 estates are a lot smaller than a Meega believe it or not, they will cost twice as much to buy and will drink a lot more fuel. Biggest problem is AIRCON

Tunnie, what do you reckon on this? They've only just put it up for sale.

Not a 3.2, and 135k on the clock, but at least you'd be buying from a reputable company...

Cheers guys.

Nickbat - Thats over my budget, I will have around a grand i suspect, want to save as much as possible for beer and food on the trip  ;) Going to split the cost of buying the car 50/50 with a m8.

I am hoping i can get a ex-plod estate like above, but a lot cheaper at auction. If its out of my range then i will look into a possible project or just see whats about.

sounds2k, cheers for that going to put it in my watch list. I suspect it will go for around £1,200 ish..

It would be nice to get a sallon 3,2 ex police and bring it up to mint condition and give it a vectra supertouring style with 17 inch speedline ally wheels, bodykit, suspension kit. That would be an interesting car and very fast if you could get it in manual, plus it would look quiet cool.
