Car Insurance
« on: 26 November 2008, 07:30:23 »

Had my renewal, shopped around, went back to my Insurance company, they dropped the premium by £30 - result.

It pays to shop around.

On my modified astra, people were telling me that adrian flux were the cheapest on modded motors and pretty much the best.

Called them and they wanted over a grand  :o so you can guess my answer!!!  ;D

Few phonecalls later and had knocked that down by over half  :D

and that was with free breakdown cover and courtesy car  :y

As above IT DOES pay to shop around  :y :y

Every year I shop about for insurance..
As every year the insurance companies I have been with never seem to be competitive with others I find when hunting....
Why is this? but as soon as you tell them "I have found a better quote!" they say "We will match it"

Why don't they do that in the first place? >:(

In my experience your insurers will discount heavily to get you on board then at renewal will hit you with a hefty sum hoping that you won't compare - my last insurers even quoted me over £130 cheaper online as a new customer....... when I called them to point this out they offered me £50 off the renewal - still £80 dearer than the online quote....

I was "more than" happy to take my insurance business elesewhere.

I think some insurers really take the piss.  A friend moved house with his missus and his insurance went up because they moved to an area with a higher crime rating.

His missus insurance went down due to it being a lower crime area!!!  WTF?!?
