Pay Pal Donation Button
« on: 08 December 2008, 11:45:47 »

Has anyone thought about putting a "Donate Here" button on the forum? I know the help I have received so far has saved me a few bob and I am sure others have saved small fortunes. Since I cannot really contribute to the community with advice relating to cars (Other than never ever, ever buy a Renault) I would be happy to bung a few quid to help in the upkeep of the board.

Its a great idea but, we realy dont need the cash to keep us going.

Reality is that we generate some income via the shop which more than covers the costs of running the site.

Our aim has always been to provide free and (hopefuly) valuable advice to ALL....that includes contributors, newbies and even non- members whilst hopefuly creating an enjoyable place to be.

Our running costs are very low, thus donations are not needed at all.  The profits from OOF shop more than cover our costs.

Our month to month running costs are really just for 2 servers:

1, our images server, is on a shared hosting account, costs a few quid a month.

the 2nd, the main dynamic OOF server is a VM squeezed into a tight corner of my server here, so running costs are virtually zero.

If you can in some way give back in advice, excellent, and much appreciated.  If you can't, thats no problem either. Hang around and join in with the community if you have time, but absolutely no problem if you don't/can't
