Can I....?

claim a car if its been dumped, and if so how, and how do i check if it is indeed dumped?

it depends how you mean "dumped"
you should ring your local council and have them remove it then ask if you can have it if its unclaimed or unwanted

SWMBO works along side the girl who sorts out abandoned vehicles in our area. It's amazing how often cars that have had a '7 day notice' stuck on, are not there when a recovery company/scrap yard go to collect it.

ive heard the pikeys round here have a good thing going with abandoned cars. they go to battersea car compound and list there name on cars that dont get unclaimed, sit and wait a while then get the logbook,

theres a nice 3 litre elite in the car park of my gym. flat tyres, cracked windows, no tax, been there bout a year now, no stickers as i think the car park is private.

had me eye on the wheels for a while, but now i think why not the whole lot?

Why not have a word with local police station...or maybe ask the GYM management too put a notice on the car ""If not claimed with in two weeks car will be removed"".

However from memory when an ex college buggered off and left his clapped out on banger in works car park we had little powers too have it removed without his consent....so worth checking with local plod just in case.
