Once the worm is up and running, it creates an HTTP server, resets a machine's System Restore point (making it far harder to recover the infected system) and then downloads files from the hacker's web site

no wonder i cant restore pc to early date, wont let me do it to any restore points

thats no necisarily (bad spelling) whats causing your problem, some antivirus programs or firewall software prevent you from doing a restore as it will corrupt the settings for definitions etc, norton used to be one such program that did this, but as of late I have had no problems with the 2009 version.

Well I have no A/V, Firewall, etc etc installed on my Windows setup...  Even Windows Update is turned off...

Then again, its running inside a VM with no network setup, or access to any removable media.

Its old news, patched ages ago, and everyone (who doesn't use a hooky cracked copy of XP) gets it via Windows Update.
