Insurance value???
« on: 27 January 2009, 20:55:27 »

What sort of money should I be looking to get for my motor?

P reg 2.5 cd estate.  105,000 miles and no marks on bodywork pre accident.
I've no doubt the first offer will be ridiculous(arent they always).

Always refuse the first offer.  I had a Carlton written off after sliding into the kerb on black ice and they offered me £800. Refused that offer and supplied receipts for the re-con'd motor.
They came back with just short of £1,600  :o

If memory serves me right i got £1100 when my estate hit a car park wall....then ummm re hit the same wall again... ;D

Chap phoned up after the garage quoted too much too fix and was reading auto trader discussing prices with me.

There was no 1st 2nd offer....a very blunt ""take it or leave it"" offer.
