quite confused by this ebay seller?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/EGR-Valve-Blanking-Plate-Fits-Vauxhall-Opel-Free-P-P_W0QQitemZ170297451370QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item170297451370&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318

it says done put egr valve back on as it sends fault signal to ecu!

I thought that putting the egr valve back onto and plugging it in was the correct way of doing it!

Unless the 6mm spaciing causes problems?

I think the seller is a bit confudled as what each engine's EGR looks like. I have a similar looking blanking plate on my Omega - EGR still plugged in. However SWMBO's 51 plate Astra G has got the software for the later cars installed, so even though the EGR (different fom Omega's -The plate on eBay wouldn't physically fit her car) is still bolted to the car, the plug is disconnected & tied up out of the way.
