Just got another toy...

Gone and got myself a cheap CRT Projector from ebay.

How BIG! And HEAVY! Christ!

Anyways, got it all working, switched a few wires round inside so the image is not upside down (As im not mounting it on a ceiling!) I’ve checked the tubes and theres NO wear on them at all!  :)

It’s a bit of a pig to setup, but once its setup its fab (until moved)!

I tested the unit yesterday using composite video, and it worked fine. However today I made myself a temp RGB to 5x BNC lead, and the quality is MILES better!  :D

Just need to find somewhere to keep it now! Will attempt to move it when I get my energy back (Just about killed myself lifting it out of the boot and into the house on my own - its 65kgs! :'()

Hehe!

Just found out that it was $14,500.00 USD back in the early 90's  :o

And I STILL cant believe this... Ive managed to put the unit into 'service' mode, and found out that its only been used for 231 hours since new! (6 of them hrs have been with me!) So its pritty much brand new - Have read that they tend to last upto 10,000 hrs! (Depending on usage / brightness etc)  So im MORE than happy!  :D :D :D :D :D

wicked, i remember the old man had one of these when I was a kid, the first thing i watched on it was the snowman. being small as I was back then the screen seemed massive

If only mum and dad would allow me to use it somewhere (sucks living at home some times but hay ho!)

Screen size wise, the SMALLEST it will do is 70"  :o And the largest is 300"  8-)

Errr.... Yeah could do I guess!  ;D

Just means that I cant fit anything else in the boot... It pritty much fills it!  ;D

Having said that, I will have a trailor with me so it is doable!

Could always hook it upto laptop and have a few raceing games going!  :y
