Quick apology...
« on: 06 February 2009, 22:48:04 »

A few days ago I posted an SP cambelt setting kit in the sale board.

Although I don't own an Omega anymore, I've had a change of heart and have decided to keep the timing tools.

Although I'm not really servicing Omegas as a part time business anymore, I dare say there will be occasions when local (or not so local) members encounter difficulties, and I will want to lend a hand. it will also be useful for cambelt meets, which I still intent to play an active part in (no costs) - and a useful resource to lend to forum members who decide to DIY.

Although no current plans - you never know, I might invest in another Omega V6 sometime...

I'd like to apologise to anyone who expressed an interest, but would prefer to be upfront with the reason :y

Despite taking all measures to wrap up warm, I have been having a problem with my fingers and toes going completely dead half way through doing a job, and it makes it extremely difficult and uncomfortable :(

I've not had a complaint or an issue, I just reached a point where I was dreading opening a bonnet, rather than loving it - and that was enough to make the call, for me  :'(

I obviously have some new commitments, having passed out to do actuve duty in my new role - and although this would slow the mechanics work down, it wouldn't stop it completely.

I may resume a limited service in the summer months - but as it stands at the moment, it's not realistic, and I'd rather be upfront than commit to things I may not be able to honour...

It will probably not be permanent, I am just having some real seasonal depression re. working on cars, it's crap at this time of year and given other time constraints, it's only fair that I am realistic.

Come the summer, and T shirt weather, I will probably do some limited jobs again :y

No need to apologise, the weather recently has been horrible, I am waiting until it is warmer to do the wishbones.

Over Christmas I had to replace the front springs, I went for the damp warm day and finished just as the rain started.

Did the idler just before the MOT and nothing since then - simply too cold.

I think as the weather gets better you will be raring to get going again.

I am totally depressed as well - simply time of year - not much light, cold, after Christmas, and lots of bills.

We all cheer up as the weather improves

I've been putting off doing jobs recently due to the cold... and I've got a garage to do them in.

Been eyeing an infrared patio heater lately, looks like the cold is going to keep on a bit. No good with snow on the ground mind.

Picked up a cheap and nasty halogen heater from Blackbushe market for 5 quid IIRC. Does the job when working on cars.

The way to overcome your depression with opening bonnet is to get your arse over here, I'm sure I could find plenty of jobs for you to do in the snow, whilst I drink tea and take the piss ;D

I agree, its a summer job.  I was out the other night purely Tech2ing, and I froze me danglies off.
