kids (daughters) and cars
« on: 09 February 2009, 17:00:23 »

the conversation went a bit like this

"Dad, there's a light on my dashboard that doesn't go out"

let me see......that's the oil warning light, have you checked your oil lately?

"No"

how often should you check your oil?

"every few days"

good, check it now

"there's none in it"

put some in quickly, dont start it until you have

"when I do start it, the engine makes a funny noise"

I'm sure there's a moral there somewhere, oh to be 19 and carefree

oops......
years ago a mate of mine tried to kid his Dad by putting new oil in to the engine after he'd been riding around in ignorant bliss for 2 weeks with the oil light flashing. You can guess the rest ,but it wasn't cheap  ;)

"Dad"

Yes love

"Are you in a good mood"

Why Love

"I had a garage man out"

and

"Well he said . . . . "

Yes, go on

"Well I had 2 choices. a newer car, or a new engine"

and

"Well he has some nice cars from £1500, or he can sort the engine for £1200"

and?

"Well I was wondering if I could borrow your car for a week or so"

But what about your car?

"Well seeing as you are so good to me Daddy I though you would sort it for me whilst I was driving yours"

" I do love you Daddy"

"See you in the morning when I collect your keys" ::) ;D :y

so true, the words "daddy" and little fingers seem to go so well together, it's a 51 plate Corsa, with FSH and 32000 miles, so well worth the engine, just hope it's a lesson learnt  ;D ;D

amazing really though, her older sister is just the opposite, checks her oil, tyres and lights etc nearly every day, and washes her car
