you can walk into on a saturday or sunday afternoon and there packed. this has got to be the first weekend in yrs ive seen it like it. 10 yrs ago on a sunday there would be a que at 11.50 in the morning to get in and packed by 12.30. i dont think ive laughed so much or drunk so much in yrs this weekend. and the reason was everyones short of work so got no weekend work.

we went to a pub in stafford on sunday the catch corner
and for the first time it was dead
its normally packed out and you can't get a seat and wait ages for food

we got to sit and didn't have to wait very long for the food

Drove past a pub today which i used to drink in ,it was boarded up ,another casualty of this fine(sic) goverments policy> Must admit I don't bother going to pubs now as theres to many p*ssed up kids and wanna be heroes looking for a fight Im getting to old for that crap so I stay at home . Rather sit in front of telly or pc and have a glass or two of vin rouge

Same here, never go to the pub anymore, even though we have 2 nice pub's in our village. Used to be 4 pubs and a Social Club
We do tend to keep our going out to the summer months when we are at the Caravan and the kids can come with us to the site club house.

Bet its not like that next weekend or the next until next 'pay weekend'

Being a TD....you learn when peeps have money to spend....ie the best time to work.....and 'pay weekends' are one of them

Wetherspoons in Cannock is ok at night but full of idiots during the day. I think by evening they have got pissed and gone/been carried home

Don't go to pubs anymore. I used to love pubs when they were proper drinkers, pool table, dartboard, jukebox, whoever was behind the jump knew your drink, you could play pontoon or crib for a few bob & if some pillock got out of order you could chin 'em without getting barred, in other words a proper boozer. Sadly the breweries have priced them out now.
    I would'nt drink @ Wetherspoons if they were giving it away, it's just not the same.
