Paypal Merchant Buttons?
« on: 09 March 2009, 18:37:34 »

Calling any Paypal experts!:

I`m setting up a Paypal 'button' using Website Payments Standard.....selling two versions of a Sheepdog training DVD: as PAL and NTSC Tv. formats, using 3 postal-area delivery rates: "U.K", "E.U" and "US/Canada/Japan/Australia"

When creating the Paypal merchant buttons, it`s clear that one may easily make a drop down boxes for multiple items (e.g T-shirt in differing sizes).....but there appears to be only one box selection option for 'postage'.

So, I could make the DVD item prices as an "including postage" for each of the 3 postage denominations.
However, if I do that, will I end up paying a Paypal percentile-charge on the postage too?....I guess I`m asking; do Paypal charge a percentile/fee for the postage aspect of a merchant sales transaction?
If so, I`ll have to factor-in an overcharge to cover the extra.
I have checked the Paypal help pages, but can find no clarification on postal-fee charging. :-/

Like all merchants, Paypal charge on the total amount paid.

As TB said -- Paypal aren't worried about what the money ( or part thereof) is for. They charge their fee based on the total transferred.
