actually it points out one reality..

to feed todays modern cpu's, you need a better disk system not a single 7200 rpm disk like all manifacturers used to sell ;D

otherwise your cpu stays useless..

£1300 per processor I guess region of £300 to £400 per disk

500+ for 250gb.   eek, so he was banging 12K worth of drives arround.  Plus Vat at that.

Keep looking at SSDs for OOF (OOF's software is particularly harsh on disks), but until reliability is proven, sticking to normal disks.

Lol, there are many better alternatives to improving transfer speeds than simply winding the rpms up!

Looked at the reviews on aria etc.  Seems a lot of people are buying them in pairs and setting them up as Raid Boot Systems
