Hmmm..

I currently have a S plate 2.5 V6 auto - cambelt, DIS pack, valves etc.. all done 1 year ago. Runs really well but has usual rust spots and a few scrapes/dings.

I'm thinking of getting a newer meggy - 02/03 plate.

My question is - is it worth my while? How much should I be paying for an 02/03 and how mch would I get for my car? :-?

I always think upgrading is always a personal thing, dependent on taste, finances and needs.  If I could afford it at the moment I would certainly upgrade to a 3.2 Elite auto, of a 03/04 plate, but I still love my current miggie, so that will do for now / years! 8-)

As for the value of your current car, to give you some idea I would probably be lucky to get £1,000 for my W reg 2.5 CDX  So yours; £500 - 800??

Certainly no where near what it is worth to you (or me for that matter!!)
