Bad Italian earthquake......
« on: 06 April 2009, 14:07:45 »

in a town called L'Aquila:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/

I am just a bit worried as my daughters in-laws live not too far from that area, but I must admit I don't know where exactly ::) ::). :(

Been trying to contact my daughter (who is in the UK)  to check on the situation but cannot make contact yet. :( :(

Thanks Pippin and Optimist! :y :y

It silly how things start to creep into your mind, but I cannot seem to make contact with my daughter and she may well have flown to Italy (as they often do) to stay with the in-laws for Easter! :o :o

Now I am starting worry, but probably for nothing ::) ::)

Hope all is OK with them - I'm sure they're fine, looking on the news, its not quite to same scale as many of the headline earthquakes recently, and we all know that the media like to show the worse...

Though you've just reminded me that I haven't heard from my Aunt for 20yrs. She lived in Lockerbie the last I heard :o

Italy, the ladies tell me the earth moves for them every night in Italy ;D

Thanks TB! :y :y

Yes, the whole northern Mediterranean area for me is so romantic, but a lot of that is due to my Maltese connection! 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

I heard that mnay Italians were seen running backwards from the scene of the worst devistation (apparantly Italians are better at retreating than moving forwward).

They never surrendered - they were just waving their arms about, as Italians do, and everyone thought they surrendered...

Relief!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D

Just heard from my daughter and all is well with her and the in-laws :D :D :D

Will now just pray for the poor Italians caught up in it who have lost loved ones, in what I suspect is a close knit community. :'( :'(
