Keep the Estate or the Saloon??
« on: 08 April 2009, 11:16:43 »

Bah I'm having a funny 'ol mood...

I'm unsure if I want to keep the Saloon, or keep the Estate...

Saloon is a 1998 'S' Elite 2.5...  Had a bit of work done to it, is an auto...
Estate is a 1999 'V' MV6 Ex-plod...  Is a bit battered, but could polish up well...

Estate also has no climate (how hard to wire in climate to a non-climate car??), and an array of electrical problems...
Saloon needs the rear 1/4's welding in, aswell as some bodywork itself...

Either way, which ever one I keep will be getting a 3.2 fitted, and also a steinmetz kit...

I really, Really don't know what to do :(

Well whichever I keep will be getting work done to it regardless, I've put a fair amount of money in both in regards to fixing them up, so either way will make a loss when sold.  Thinking about it earlier though, if I was to get an Estate, I probably would sell both and then get a pre-face Elite or something, and then go all out on that...  I guess having time to think, I'd rather start with the toys.  I may still keep the Saloon and work on that yet...

No vote. Tidy 'em both up best you can, knock 'em out & buy a good'n that you really like. Yes you'll take loss on the money spent, i would if i sold the Beastie, but that's life.
The fact you can't decide which one to sell tells me you don't LOVE either one desperately so time to "clean house" & start again. 8-)

Personally , I would keep the saloon , as I only use my car myself , the wife has a Galaxy to normally ferry the kids round in, which I also jump in if needed ( normally in the winter when everyone gets muddy at football so the Mig is out of bounds  ;) )  but not sure of your circumstances ?

Take care

Do them both up a tad and sell, buy a 3.2 Elite ...  :)

You know thats what you really want .. :)

And its easier than doing an transplant .. :)

You cant do in a saloon what you can in an estate but you can do in an estate what you can do in a saloon. :y :y :y
