I've never done one, but wondered what all the fuss was about, thought I might have to do one so I called them.

After a short conversation they said I didn't have to fill one out, but because my company only pay me 13.5p a mile for company mileage, I can claim the rest back through the government. I can have pensions contributions rebated too!!

Mines in Last year it was late, but it was my accountants fault so he paid my fine 8-) He's a very very nice man

How late was it? Last year tax office gave you 24 hours grace....so as long as it was in by 7.30 am 2/1/2006 it would have been ok. And no theres no one every in the tax office that early.....but shoving it thro their letter box before 7.30 am is good enough  

This year they havent given the 24hr grace period......but if its only a few hours late....some tax offices will...if you ask very very nicely and grovel a lot will stamp it received on the 31st
