off to fetch my new car in the morning
« on: 17 April 2009, 16:48:34 »

Well i'm off up to Yorkshire in the morning to pick up my new omega and it is going to take some getting used to i think, its about 15 years since i owned a diesel, so must remember which nozzle to pick up when i fuel it up, that coupled with the driver involvment pack should make fun motoring for the first few miles,  :D ;D

I remapped my last car which was a 2001 Facelift 2.2dti.  Remapping had very little effect on the MPG, and if anything it raised efficiency by a mile or two.  Remapping gives a nice little power gain too, but don't expect it to be a rocket after!  Still well worthwhile though.

And I envy you.  There is no better feeling than waiting to collect your new car and that first drive home.  Love it! :-)

I still have to be very careful, nearly made that mistake the other day diesel nozzle ready to put into petrol tank :-[ and that was in your Dads old Astra, remember me.
Hope everything goes ok with the new car,
Sold the Elite yet?
I'm very tempted but no room at present for another car.

LOL, never quite understood the wrong fuel thing.  I've owned both petrol and diesel, both exclusively and both at same time, never even got close to putting wrong in  :-/, but I know many who have, including someone who managed to force a diesel nozzle into unleaded filler :o

Now watch, I'm bound to do it now ;D

Hope you like the DTi smoothomega :y, but don't neglect the servicing, and ignore Vauxhall's daft service schedule, and I'm sure it will be a decent motor for you :y
