Power steering help needed please
« on: 20 April 2009, 18:19:33 »

Evenin' all. My Meega has developed a problem with the power steering. It's fine when starting from cold, but after about 15 minutes when the tickover has dropped to normal it becomes very hard to turn the wheel until you rev the engine. when the engine is revved above tickover all seems o.k. I've checked the fluid level and for leaks and all is o.k. Can anyone give me any ideas of whats up please?

Hi Tony, what about the condition of the belt which drives the pump?  Worn or loose? :y

would do better posting in the help section or admin may move it for you

the boy is online and should move it shortly if you ask nicely

as for the problem i think there is a speed sensor on the pump that controls how hard it is to turn the steering if you know what i mean

its either that or your pump is on its way out

sounds like a failing pump unfortuantely. Not too bad a job, judging by the how2.

Catches you out first time it happens, doesn't it ::)
