southend on bloody sea
« on: 04 May 2009, 20:36:58 »

I had to go to Essex this afternoon & on the way back to Kent I thought I would visit Southend as it wasn't far.

What a shock :-? the place is over run with speed cameras, I mean everywhere, it was a joke, gatsos, traffic light cameras ,average speed cameras(permanent) I found myself creeping along at 30mph even on the dual carriageways.

Southend on sea council have gone over the top, like speed camera crazy  :'( it must be the most car unfriendly place in this police state oops I mean country >:(
p.s. if any forum members live in South camera on sea you have my sympathy  :-/

That's because the boy racers use it for cruses ::).

Exactly right... It's the Arseole of Essex and has a very high accident rate due to young lads "cruising" in their "Hot Hatches" and generally being stupid! :o :o :( :(

The missus and me went down for the evening when we lived in London. We sat in a pub on the front watching chavs drive back and forth, back and forth at about 20mph with the music booming out. I sometimes wonder if they're still there.

I know this because my Daughter and her Boyfriend moved to Braintree in January and last week they went to Southend and the first thing she commented on was the amount of Hamilton wannabee's that were bombing up and down trying to ruin their hearing ::).

the road running along Southend sea front has allways been a magnet for cruising.  Scooter boys in the 60's    Mods & Rockers competition, I mean punch ups.   Late 70's & 80's skin head meets on bank holidays.
It's Essex.
Go to the other parts of Essex and be pleasantly surprised.  North east Essex - Constable (the painter) country.
