sad to say but I don't think there is any going back. The political correctness thing is almost organic i.e. with a life of its own.

Where I now live is like I remember life was 25 years ago. No one locks their doors, people give people lifts, you can talk to someone elses child without being viewed as a perv, etc. If something is sensible then people just get on with it; like everyone helping out at the annual slaughter and prep of pigs instead of transporting them hundreds of miles despite it being "against EU rules".

Course it is all changing. The kids here too now have  parents not being able to say No or not wanting to.

Not sure I agree with you on the EU. There is a truly astonishing lack of information on British TV about EU matters. Why is that one wonders?  I think Britain ought to decide one way or the other to either be in the EU and behind it or backtrack and get out. I think the actual cost of the EU to Britain is £45m a day. Still small potatoes compared with the money pumped into useless UK banks that still are not lending. If Britain left the EU what would the £45 m actually be spent on? Building up the Commonwealth perhaps?

....I think the question should be Varche - what tangible benifet do we derive from actually being members, as presently realised, of the EU? :-/

I dont see any benefit even for my country..Obviously UK will go minus :-/

I dont think the powers that be actually realise how much this grinds people like me down. Political correctness, as it is called, just doesn't sit right with a generation who grew up fending for themselves.
My poor wife, who is a headteacher, spends more and more of her time dealing with this rubbish. Every policy that she needs to instigate has to be trawled over by various local authority personnel who pick it to bits and send it back for amendment, time and time again. She doesn't have much time for education.

I wish someone would work out, properly, what all this meaningless shite actually costs the country, and therefore us, every year.
Then add that figure to what the tosspots in the european parliament cost.
I wouldn't mind betting it would be billions.....wasted.

The crew were alerted to a Category A life-threatening incident and arrived at his home at 3.57pm. After assessing the patient they left for the hospital at 4.13pm - for a journey taking around 10 minutes. Instead the driver headed to his depot where he got out with the patient remaining in the back of the ambulance with the technician until the new driver took the wheel. The vehicle then left the depot and arrived at the hospital at 4.27pm. As soon as the patient got to A&E doctors administered CPR but were unable to save him. The delay was reported by the new driver who was just starting his shift.

The new driver did bloomin well to take over, sign in and get to the hospital from the Ambulance station in 4 Mins. 3 Major traffic lighted junctions two roundabouts and a mine roundabout and two pelican crossings and more than half a mile........
