Draggin Jeans
« on: 13 June 2009, 17:00:10 »

Does anyone have them? Been thinking of getting a pair, i have some waterproof trousers at the moment, i don't ride a sports bike, its the kevlar actually any good?

Do they offer the same protection as normal bike trousers? (non leather)

Yeah tunnie ,they're ideal for you on your bike . with a decent jacket and a good pair of boots you will be protected , and dont forget to wear a pair of glove's .It's amazing how many berks you see with all the gear and no gloves, human nature to put hands down when you fall .

Cheers, yeah i got a Dainese D-dry jacket, and some black leather boots.

One thing i do have a problem with is my arms sticking to the jacket, i wear a t-shirt underneath, but my arms sweat a bit, and its hard to get my arms out of the jacket.

Is it worth investing in a long sleeve t-shirt type thing? Maybe something runners use  :-/

Bought these because I can't be bothered to get into the full leather kit every ride but I do want some protection that's better than ordinary jeans. Also the black Draggin jeans can be worn in the office so no need to change when I get to work.

The jeans don't offer any impact protection, only abrasion (the cargo pants have pockets for soft armour, I think). I don't know how much protection they offer as I haven't crashed (and hope not to, so may never know how effective they are).

On real hot days I wear Draggins (over shorts), a Heine Gericke mesh jacket, walking boots and gloves. Easy to take off the Draggins and carry them in your backpack.

I recently read that you need protection from your feet upwards. So feet first, then legs, then torso and obviously head. Not what I would expect, but apparently ankle injuries are very common. (Just remembered that Ted Simon in his recent book described getting trapped by his ankle when he fell off on a bad road).

Cheers

Yep, see them pull up at the shop every day.
