Quinn Direct
« on: 19 June 2009, 22:05:38 »

Anyone had any experience of this company.

Been doing some searching,
Me with 17 year old learner, full NCB £519.
Without NCB £633. Including Courtesy Car and breakdown with Home Start, even for him. :y

17 Year old learner, with me on the policy £633 :o :o
If this is right then it makes sense to start the insurance in his name. :y
Next quote up for him was £2197 :'( :'(

To be honest, as long as he is legal, not bothered if they are crap at paying out :D

I was insured on my mothers 1.0 micra with quinn direct when I was leanring. They're very good :y

I paid 860ish euro as a named driver. When my dad was shopping around he phoned axa and they told me to take the quote from quinn ;D

It's best to be a named driver on a provisional license and after passing the get to get his own insurance. I waited to pass the test before getting my mig and when I did a mate at collage was paying only 200 less for his 1.4 golf on a provisional licence, WIN ;D ;D

I have just insured the Car, with his as the policy holder and Me and his Mum as named drivers. Adding his Mum brought the price down another £32.
Rang them to double check, also the car is in my name, never thought when filling in the paperwork. They would not accept my NCB which is on another car, though I understand some companies will, but given the price for him to be the holder, I think it is for the best anyway.
Name of keeper does not matter, so he is on the road for £601.89 much cheaper than I expected. This is the advantage of being able to use the Internet and play with various combinations of car / driver etc. :y

Name of keeper does not matter,
Every company I can remember dealing with (including Quinn) have specifically asked if the car is registered in the policyholders name, so I'd double check that just in case.

We both know that it shouldn't make any odds who the car is registered to (even the V5 confirms that), but you know what these sneaky f**kers are like come claim time.

As far as Quinn goes, I did a year with them a couple of years ago and never had any problems (but then again, I ddin't have to claim for anything....so that doesn't prove anything really).

Unfortunately you only get to find out who the good ones are if you find yourself in the position of having to claim.

I rang them to check, and to check the whole thing really as I was amazed at the price.
Never had any problems with the keeper bit, swmbo's car is in my name as it was mine originally but is insured in her name. :y
