Off to Ibiza...
« on: 26 July 2009, 14:52:26 »

On the 7th September, we are off to Ibiza for a week.

Got an absolutely cracking deal - less than £100 a head incl flights and accomodation (Private appartment)

It's amazing what you can find when you shop around online for a couple of hours  :y

Nice apartments too, I know the area (in fact, know the whole island quite well, Markie and I toured it on a 2 seater 50cc moped a few years ago) ;D

I booked the flights and accom Seperately.

Fly out with sleazyjet (yes, I know you hate them ;D )
Fly back with Ryanair

Accom was booked on Thompson website, so it's named, with good pool, good reviews, etc  :y

I have no issues with SleazyJet. Its a cheap and chearful service, but its cheap and chearful :y

Only 'hassle' I've had with Sleazy was coming back from Nice a few years back (year after the MV6 broke down in France, hence flying next time), and the plan developed a fault, and we had to do an emergency landing at Stanstead.  Quite surreal banking in low and fast with all the emergency vehicles just getting up to speed to follow you down the runway.....

Easyjet are fine, i found their planes clean, and had a good service.

RyanAir is bloody awful! Then again i did only pay 1penny for a flight, inc taxes  ;D

I too would be far more worried about flying Ryanair than Easyjet.......!!

As for Ibiza, well I was there in 1988 and it was lovely back then, just a beautiful little holiday island with a relatively lively nightlife......

The whole clubbing thing has kicked off though since we went and to be honest I wouldnt go anywhere near it again, even if you paid me to, not my defination of a holiday to be honest..........!!!!

Just me getting old I guess.............38.........

I used to go to Ayia Napa when that was the club scene to go to. No problem at all. Yes, in the town centre at night there would be loads of girls who'd gone commando laying on the pavement, and every resturant proudly selling "English breakfast" and "English fish and chips".

Whether Ayia Napa or anywhere else, I prefer to go out into the rural areas for evening beer and food, see the real country/people.
