looking for new omega
« on: 23 February 2007, 16:37:26 »

hi

i used to have a 2.0 gls, i sold it at the beginning of december as a trade in for 2002 tdci focus. i only sold it because we were traveling so much to hospitial for the kids. now i want another one as a second car for me to drive. i want at least a v6 of some sort, spec level at least a CD but not to worried about it.  i seen 3 mv6s in a local breakers yard advertised as driveable but no prices. ay ideas roughly what mv6 go for if their in a breakers yard. the budgets about 1200-1500.

cheers

Hi, well that will be quite a jump from a 2.0 to a 3.0 MV6  :)

Avoid ones in breakers yards.... for £1,500 you can buy a very nice manual MV6 (well you can over here, but I have never seen an MV6 in NI and I am over there regularly).

To help you decide what would be best suited to you answer the following questons.

Do you like to be involved in your driving or do you prefer the more relaxed (lazy) approach?

How important are toys?

Does fuel economy (and potentially insurance in NI) concern you overly?

hi

yeah it is a bit of a jump, but i want more power! my driving style when i had the omega was a bit more relaxed and it carried over to the Focus, so i'm not all about all out speed or 0-60 times. as for toys the Focus is the everyday car and its godd sunroof and AC and even heated front seats in leather. its also got heated front screen which is nice, so toys aren't that important but i would like some.
i've been looking on autotrader.co.uk for them but good ones seem to a bit out of  my budget.

cheers
