Markie - if you want a car that drives itself go for the Evo, safe, fast and super reliable so I hear.  Scoob comes a close second for the money.  What about someting more refined like a worn in M5  :-?

We had an Evo 8 FQ300 or 320 or whatever for a company demonstrator a year or two back.

LOADS of fun, was like driving a rollerskate with nitrous.

Felt every bump in the road though, for everyday use.

If you ran over a ciggy paper you could tell how many times it had been folded....

Man that signed the company cheques said NO - 'cos he thought it would look like a batmobile, especially with the firms colour scheme and graphics.   ;D :D ;D :D

Whatever your reasoning Jock, I think it's prudent to smell the roses on your journey through life. If that means changiing your car to suit then so be it. There're many equally worthy vehicles out there to be sampled.

I also approve of your philosophy of not borrowing for a car. I MIGHT have to soon, but not if I can help it.

I do hope you get the Monaro though. Even if you don't like it I'll be so envious!! I had wanted one this year, but I don't think it's going to happen after all!!   :'(

You know you can always come back!!!  ;)

Markie, I have one word for you, actually its 2....

I can see your logic... after uni i plan to work in London and live at home. I could save for a house or get a Monaro Coupe 6.0 VXR   ;)

In the year after I left uni, I spent £11k on a motorcycle (£2.5k of which was the insurance) and £10k on a car....couldn't do it now (mortgage and kids)

thanks for the comments folks... :y

M5.... Thought about it but i really want somethng that may actually give me better mpg than the omega.no wotse  :'(...but i would make the excetion for a Monaro ;)

Wouldnt leave the forum even if the mv6 went.....i dabble as many of you know and have a vectra and rover as projects. Simply through what was availability when i wanted a project....I intend to go the Ronnie route to projects ( omega omega)

Going to be summer at least...providing no nasty pitfalls....and life can be full of them and circumstances may change....

I am looking to spend about 6-7k plus the MV6....so perhaps 9k top.

That buys a v plate evo 6 or Impreza P1 ........but no evo 8 or Monaro...yet :-/ it may be i get to summer and decide to make another push for a Monaro :-/
