How many more taxes...........
« on: 23 September 2009, 14:54:39 »

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/8270772.stm

A tax for having a fixed landline phone. I know this was brought up on here a few months ago but it looks likely this will be passed now.

How many more ways to tax us can this government come up with??? >:( >:(

I know Albs, I'm fed up with it.

What annoys me more than anything is the way the government try and spin us all this bulls**t about how it isn't a tax. What the f**k is it then - they will be taking it without an option so in my book it is a tax. >:( >:(

All I will say about all these proposals is stop panicing, let's just wait and see, we have 10 months and counting before the current incompetents are relieved of all their posts! :y :y :y :y :y :y :y :y :y

Labour have historically been always the party of high taxation, and the Conservatives have always been the opposite, although to pay for GB's stupidity the main sources of tax revenue will have to continue, as they did at the start of Thatcher's reign, to pay off the Labour Governments debt!! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Please just remember the mess we are in now, and as we were in 1979, and NEVER vote in Labour again! ;) ;) ;) ;)

If we vote Tory..................we are not going to get a Thatcher (Thank god).......a Churchill.......or a Supermac.......................No.....We will get David Cameron(a nobody).....as Batman.......and his toady little sidekick George Osborne (another nobody) ............as the Boy Wonder. :-/ :-/ :-/
New Labour .............................may well be history Lizzie................but these Eton educated Tory Toffs will be no good for the country as they have no understanding of the ordinary  British people....( this is what happens ....when you are dressed by "nanny"....until you are nineteen. ;D ;D
It might be a case of "better the devil you know"  ;)

Hi Optimist, great to see you again! :y :y :y

To start with Macmillan and Churchill were not born as great politicians and leaders of our country, but by operating in those circles developed as such.  Cameron could well do the same, as Thatcher indeed did.  Unknown, to well known , then greatness, is a development that no one can predict, in fact many predicted Churchill would be a disaster, and he came close to being so, but once the country needed him.......the rest his history.

As for "Eton toffs", Churchill went to Harrow, Macmillan to Eton as did Cameron.   On the playing fields of those illustrious public schools future British victories and greatness were won.  Cameron could, it is hoped, match the virtues gained at Eton and also become a great British leader.

So there is nothing wrong in our leaders being those that have gained from the best education in the world; what is wrong is that more children cannot enjoy such privilege! ;) ;)

"outdated"!! :o :o :o  Have a look through their 21st Century web site, read through what is intended, aimed for, provided, and note the famous old Etonians listed, thinking of their achievements.   "Bumblers" are in all parts of society, in all classes, but regrettably you will always find far more 'challenged' children outside of the public school system than in!! ;) ;)

.....I share your concern regarding the personalities likely to form the next administration Opti.

I’m far from convinced that the Tory front bench, as presently constituted, will have the strength or imagination to form an administration to a point where the mess that the existing lot has left, can be tackled in any cohesive way. That’s something which should concern us all.

Insofar as ‘the devil you know’ I would prefer to forget about this present demon, as a renewed term of government would be an unmitigated disaster for this country.
