3. 82Y Audi 80 1.9 CD auto, no tax, mot 10 months.
In gold with a brown velour interior. Top spec,  FSH, lovely 5cyl engine.

2. 96 Mazda 626 Saloon, tax 2 months, mot 8 months, working air con!
£30

1. 89 Ford Sierra Sapphire 2.0 GLSi, tax 1 week, mot 4 weeks. Working everything! Even headlight wipers! You could run your hand along the inside of the sill from front to back on both sides!
Took it to Knockhill and tried very hard to kill it!
Great fun!

1972 vw 411LE with eberspacher petrol heater and timer with 4 months MOT and Tax £30.00, drove it for the 4 months and sold it with no MOT/tax for £40.00 best I have ever done on a car.

1976 Hillman Avenger estate £150.00 used for work and was 100% reliable.

My current 1996 Omega was free, my father gave it to me 


Worst thing I ever did was sell my 3 Opel Manta's for £50.00 each, brought a tear to my eye that did. Especially the one in worst condition as I had been driving that one right up to the end, sad day, but it was rusted out but looked so good.

Lol, there has never been anything lovely about the Audi 5 pots.....

I guess the best value was the Nova.....800 quid and lasted me 9 years and 100K miles despite being ragged to within an inch of its life!

Old N reg Mini in blue. Bloke who brought my mums (old) P reg Passat was going to scrap it as the clutch was gone. Dad had it off him, fixed the clutch, and gave it to me. I was 7 years old, bloody brilliant. Learnt clutch control and some mechanical basics in that.

My wifes Audi 80 TDi Estate (I may have mentioned it before ) £200, near on 80mpg, L Reg, Straight through its last 2 MOT's. Just wish I could get the turbo working.

And finally, a 1967 Ford Anglia 105E. Knew that I would be losing my license in the next few months, (was waiting for a court appearance ) wanted something a bit different that I wouldn't lose money on so paid £300 for it, sold it 4 months later for £700.

Cheapest, one of my Omegas V6s. Price is secret

Second cheapest, probably a 1.2 A reg Nova.  As DTM says, raggable car.  Loved it, only I couldn't get the seats/mirrors set right.  Paid £400, had for about 5yrs (forgot I had it, it was under a pile of junk in garage), sold for £350.

Best value, probably the Rover 25 we've had from new.  9yrs, 1 catasphic HG failure at 72k, HG weeping coolant again now. 1 rad, 2 sets of front pads, and, err, thats it (except tyres/exhaust/fluids)

196? Ford 105E for restoration, non starter.  Put the HT leads in the correct firing order and soon on the road, was driving by now..

1971 Bedford 'J' Series Ambulance, got if free from Stockton Racecourse, Got it recoveed for free to Sedgefield by 'Turnes of Sedgefield' and got it insured for free for 2 years by an Insurance broker, that has sadly long since gone.

Had a few £50 cars, Mini's and Ford Cortina MK1 GT, wish I still had the latter......

I had one of those as a company car once..Interesting car to drive, was always worried it would fall over on tight bends......

a 1300cc b-reg ford escort 3 door estate that i got dad to pay £300 for  and i then spent the next 4 days solid cleaning and servicing and drove it for 2 years before buying a citroen 1.9d bx saloon for £1300 and gave my older brother the escort as a birthday prezzie as he had just finished a drink drive ban and could not afford a car to run his family about plus it was cheap for him to insure......I traded the citroen in for  96 mondeo ghia x with all the trimmings a year later and felt like i was someone important in that car..... 8-)
