f1 B.S.

what a load of B.S. Fancy lights, coloured paint, sun set in the back ground, and some big yachts in the harbour. Lovely. Coloured lights on the Hotel, (wtf!)Ferrari world. Full colour advert screens over the track. Pit lane tunnel. Great.

What a Shite race! Singapore was the same, and if memory serves so was Valencia, although not a night race. Is this what Bernie thinks we want to see? Or is it there to give us something else to look at when we get board?

Track layout looks very mickey to me. Not a drivers track i would guess. We wouldn't want any drivers tracks on the calender now would we. Like Silverstone? No, we dont want that. We want neon lights and pastel  coloured paint.

Did you hear Burnie defend Donington Park? The recession was against them! 'dangle berries'. That place is hopeless. How can they not have the funding in place BEFORE they start?

Didnt really see the race (fell asleep) loadsa bling, but that seems to be thier part of the world.  Was intrigued with the LED lollipops for Stop/Ready/Go in the pit lane.  Be interesting to see if they appear at other traks and save some of the silly accidents with the fuel guys.

they who has the money gets the races, Bernie wants 7.5 million from Silverstone to have the F1 there next year, with a view to it going up 7% every year!  >:(

Turkey did the same, fancy track and stands, this year no bugger turned up. Silverstone is basically some tin sheds in a field, and 100,000 turn up.

£800 million can make you a track, can't make you a race  :)

of course modern f1 is boring and shite.  Until they lift the ban on overtaking, its pointless....

They did but, the backers pulled out (read went pop) due to the recession.

I actually prefer Donnington as a circuit over Silverstone (and thats not because its closer to me) and even Brands Hatch.

Donnington is a great track, but would lose its magic to get it up to F1 standards.  Local infrastructure couldn't cope.

Silverstone makes a good track due to some overtaking opportunities, and as a 'TV sport' track, is OK.

Brands is another decent track, but no F1 overtaking with current rules.

As much as I want Silverstone NOT to have it (its a right pita for about 10 days!), its undoubtedly the best England can offer for F1.  Quite often do the free test days there - worthwhile if you get a day when lots of teams are there (else a lot of waiting around watching them in pits) if you live nearby

Brands is, imho, probably the best spectator track there is. To ride/drive its a pleasure on anything half of todays modern engine sizes that want to actually use the place. With each technological advancement it be comes more and more a go cart track, the run off areas are woefully small.

Even half keen track dayers are lobbing bikes almost OVER the fence. In certain areas an off is guaranteed a trip at least as far as the tyre wall, and thats just the short circuit.

D.ton is a fantastic layout. But too short and narrow for f1, no news there. But have noticed over the years the management seem to seize any chance to make life hard for all. Boxs and hospitallity are shabby at best, it needs f1 to sort it out, but was totally convinced it would not happen when i heard they where trying to get on the calender.

Silverstone. Is king! the end. :-) sooner they realise that the better. Facilities, in the middle at least, are best i've seen. Its seems to me Bernie wants gold taps and marble floors with rather blue lights all over. It stinks imho. Somebody tell me i'm wrong.

Brands is my favourite UK track by far,I love the place.I can still remember F1 cars racing there. It  was awesome to watch.I would love to see F1 cars slowed down enough to be able to race there again without ruining the place.
Cant stand Silverstone personally, never could ,never will
Donington - like the track, but the place is run by tossers. imo.
