Mine are - cyclists should obey all road rules, but I let them off on pavements provided they are not being tossers.

Overtaking stationary or slow traffic - don't go up inside while the car is passing a parked car - b****y idiot.

I've recently had the 'misfortune' of cycling to work when my car was off the road, interesting to see a mix of very good, and very bad manners towards me.

A pet hate of mine is cyclists not indicating, right or left...ive often sat behind a bike waiting to turn left.....they turn too without indicating, I could have gone round if they indicated.
Maybe they dont due to lack of control with one arm on handlebars, and loss of balance looking round to see who is about....maybe installing indicators would help, just a button to press  :-/ cant see it catching on though (they are available).
Maybe indicators and mirrors compulsory would improve safety for all :-/
Not reqd - I'm guessing most of us have doen cycling proficiency, those that haven't, and ride a bike, perhaps should.

15-20 years ago when I last rode, I agree.

back on a bike after a long time, with more weight, less confidence, those items would have made me feel a lot safer.

So it's not just me then, when I think how I could throw a bike around as a Kid, and now, well........ :-[ ::) ::)

I have the confidence, I have learnt the hard way to be very assertive while being very defensive... its wierd to combine the two but it works :y

Interesting result.  While most wanted cyclists to be held to the same standard as motorists most also disagreed that cyclists and motorist should separated... that not the feeling I get when cycling! lol

The helmet one was lower than I thought it would be and the insurance and tax issue higher...

Thanks guys, that is a really interesting result :y

I shall ponder the answer tomorrow when I am more awake lol

I left out the mandatory helmets and insurance because I think it ought to be optionally cheap.

I also think that cars and cyclists should be separated but it would be too expensive to implement.
