....my boss offered me another job the week before last (my decision whether to take it), was originally interested after having a chat about it, but when he advised who would be taking over my areas I refused the offer, and told them to offer it to the other bloke instead, which they did and he accepted

The job is project manager for the fire safety works to all tower blocks plus other blocks that are identified, following the Laknal fire and the more recent one, they are throwing in five million a year for the next five years.
