Its always petrol atations these days.They get a job working  there then set up a camera above the card machine so they can watch you put your PIN number in and then clone the card apparently.
They hit it hard for a couple of weeks then scarper to somewhere a long way away and do the same thing again.
I had it happen a couple of years ago,and as much as I detast Natwest they did reimburse me quite quickly.

Gas the tinkers. >:(

I've gone full circle on this. I used to use cash, no cards. Then I went cards, virtually no cash. Now I'm back at square one, no one can clone a tenner.

They actually swap the card swipe unit for thier own as well, has it's own data logger built in but lets the fuel transactions go through the system as usual.

Loads of info gained from places like "The Real Hustle" on BBC, excellent programs shows all manner of scams.
