Normal working time directive rules are iirc - max. 48 hours per week unless you have voluntarily signed an exemption,Regardless of that you must have a minimum 11 hour break between shifts.
You can only work 12 shifts in 2 weeks.Dont take that as gospel until you have checked though.
I also heard a rumour that security are exempt from the whole working time regulations anyway but I,m not sure tbh.
If you have been working illegal hours though, you can probably take them to a tribunal after you find another job.

I spoke to the other colleague who witnessed the problem the other day and he does not want to get involved...Because he thinks it should just be allowed to blow over as the supervisor was felling under the weather and was stressed out(nothing to do with the fact they both go drinking together)due to senoir management in Bham not supporting us as a team and employing a new 5th team member before the contract expires and we go over to the new company on feb 1st....I know where i stand now as when i came in for work tonight the reception was colder than outside my supervisor made 3 comments to me in the 1st five minutes all answers to my routine questions Any probs? any jobs to be done? Am i logged in? after that he sat in his chair i sat in mine and did my job...I`ve already started looking for another job wether it will be in security or back driving 7 an alfs we will have to see but i aint walking till i got sumat else and plus i wanna see what this new security company do with the retail park contract in terms of hours, rota and pay as from what i understand the hours we have been working are now illegal we`ve been working upto 84 hour weeks in the past year....I understand thats above and beyond whats legally expected of you...... :-/

That's a lot, is that on overtime?
Keep at it, I think waiting till the now company take over is a good idea, keep your options open.  Good luck.... :y
