Well, I think it may be a bad omen but i went Tesco tonight shopping and whilst I was in there I made a point of looking at every Kraft item I could find.......

NONE of them were made in the UK........

Oh for kcuf sake. Why don't just ssip off. This really skcuf me off >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Bloody foreigners taking over businesses. I expect they run it for a while & then move all production to the US.
Just like the company i worked for until Oct, they got took over by Honeywell, another bloody big US corporation that just swans in & swallows up everything.
I suppose with a SPINELESS GOVERNMENT in charge we can't expect anything else :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

It was Cadbury that borrowed to buy up the confectionary arm of Pfizer when they sold off what they didn't want after their hostile take over of Warner Lambert. Needless to say our factory was closed when Cadbury shipped production of Halls Mentholyptus to Canada Turkey & elsewhere.
As said, it seems that companies here, UK & foriegn, can too easily shut down factories & move production eslewhere ie Bosch has just anounced closesure of a factory in south Wales with the loss of 900 jobs and it seems nobody is bothered.  >:(

Andy B as a Bury lad you will know the old Halls Plant in Dumers Lane - in the 1970s I had to defend attempts by Warner Lambert to move the Mentholyptus confectionery production unit to Morris Plains in New Jersey or somewhere and to do this used the Sec 482 of Taxes Act which sought to prevent under pricing on intercompany asset transfers. Not only did we prevent the transfer but managed to secure further investment including government grants to start up the bubble gum lines.

It now seems odd that Cadbury many years later bought it and closed it all down. Glad I left in 1982.

Andy you may remember Ted Schofield - MD there for many years - lived at bottom of Holcombe Hill.
