If Pete`s business is taking off, he needs a slogan: :y

"Elite Pete: he`s not as bad as people say"

....`I always was fond of understatement! ;D

Thanks Manny, but it was a marathon job. When the job was completed, back together and started for the first time there was a squeak so I turned the car off, removed the auxiliary belt and started the car again, squeak still there >:(. Stripped the covers off again and tried to find where the squeak was coming from. It was a genuind Vauxhall kit but still checked the spacers behind the guides they were fine, the bearing were running freely with no noise as was the water pump, and everything had been torqued and timed correctly so I was baffled. Thought it was time to call the all knowing one. Luckily Mark DTM had come across this problem once or twice before and he told me to put the car back together again start it and if the squeak is still there pull the top of the cam belt cover forward and spray a little wd40 in as the white markings on the belt can cause a squeak until it has worn in. So I did and the squeak has vanashed, so thanks Mark and i'm sorry to bother you when you having quality time at home. Oh and thanks to Manny and his misses for all the coffee and bacon butties :y

I remember around 3 years ago we had a simelar thing with H21's car up in Fife... valve timing corrected, all put back together, and had a simelar noise.

Well done for sticking with it Pete, it's a horrible feeling when it all has to come off again  :'(

Funny thing is I knew everything had been done correctly and double checked but when the squeak appeared you soon start to think, what have I done wrong ;D
