Anyone Else Got The Lurgy
« on: 14 March 2010, 21:10:49 »

Woke up this morning to a pounding headache and feeling sick, that was strange because I haven't had a proper drink since last August.

Got gradually worse, had some cornflakes which stayed down for approx 7 minutes, havent been able to touch a thing since.

Wife works nights this weekend so had a 2 and 3 year old to keep amused, gee what fun.

Im now lying in bed, a quivering wreck. Every time i move i want to be sick, head still pounding, aching all over and really annoying and painful cramps in my big toe, whats that all about.

Tues evening as I pushed my tea around my plate ...... I wasn't particularly unwell.  Later on I commented to SWMBO that I was feeling a bit sickly, but otherwise OK.
11 o'clock I said goodnight - which is very early for me - by 12 o'clock I didn't know which way to turn when I went to the bathroom  ::). I was the same on the hour every hour through the night.
SWMBO had decided she didn't want the lurgy so slept in another bed.
I had a 13 tog quilt on the bed with another in half over the top & was still cold. Had Thursady & Friday off sick back in Sat but didn't feel hungry all day.

If being sick/sweating a lot/headache .. make sure you drink LOTS of fluids ... preferably water .. if you don't like the taste of plain water .. weak squash  ....

It is VERY easy to get dehydrated, and a headache is one of the early symptoms of dehydration.

Short answer is no. Probably on it's way though as the girlfriend has had it. Even though she lives in Sheffield, after some bodily fluid exchanging ;), it's likely i'm now a carrier >:(

Yep. However it's lost, it needs to be replaced, and some. :y
