Thatis the funniest thing I have seen for ages Daz! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :y :y

In fact with Malta just 50 miles from Sicily, the Maltese and Italians are well used to taliking to each other.  They either speak to each other in Italian or mainly use English.  I never heard many Italians speaking Maltese! :D :D :D ;) ;)

True though Lizzie... the beach looked like it had been drilled, with a 12" drill obviously ;D ;D

Lovely place Malta :y what was funny though, I think it was called Thats Life, used to get funny pictures sent in, so when my Mum took a picture of an old Guy sitting on what looked like a petrol lawn mower towing a trailer with a goat on it ;D ;D ;D shame it did not turn out that brill when she had it developed :(

Ah yes! :y :y  The good very old volcanic rock! :D :D :D

Next time Daz try the two sandy beaches at Paradise Bay and Golden Bay! 8-) 8-) ;)

Think it was Golden Bay we went to... not where we stayed though we stayed across the water from St. Pauls Cathedral :y

As said previously, me & swmbo were last there in 2003, & to be honest the place was changing from the laid back, simple, quirky place we fell in love with, to a harder, more touristy, more harshly policed island more in line with say Crete or Rhodes. We saw some awesome wheels while there last; lambo's, ferraris, porkies etc, but the roads were so terrible in the villages that they couldn't do more than 10mph without ripping the wheels or suspension off lol, so you'd hear a fantastic screech & roar for about 3 seconds followed by harsh  squeeling brakes, then a lull over the potholes & back to the roaring & screeching for another few seconds etc etc!! We even saw a young lad outside  'The Silent City' repairing a hole in the wing of his hillman minx with a flattened baked bean can :D
Happy Days ;D ;D :y
