I think most normal people wouldn't even consider using a motorway service area for either fuel or the restaurant services.

Haven't stopped at them for years, they are nothing short of legalized robbers.....
 

I must admit, I only use them out of necessity. If I have the time to spare I normally leave the motorway and find a nice little pub or cafe and local filling station.
