John Lewis TV "repair" ......
« on: 21 April 2010, 03:37:01 »

Just wanted to pass it on about excellent service received from John Lewis.

About 3 years ago we bought a 42" Plasma TV from them. A couple of weeks ago it went wrong - so they carted it away and I waited for the repair under the 5 year warranty.

I got a phone call yesterday saying they would be happy to repair it - but wanted to offer me the option of a replacement set instead of the repair as it needed a new screen panel! Yes please I said.

So, new model chosen - they initially said that it would be a like for like replacement, but I somehow managed to blag a 46" LED model and also a new 5 year warranty on the new one.

Just awaiting delivery now  :y

My new Hoover washing machine came with a 12 month parts and labour warranty. It also has a free 5 year parts guarantee. Only problem is this actually costs a minium of £179  for labour charges and call out. Not worth the paper it is written on. :-/ :-/ :-/ :-*

I reckon praise where due, shame where warranted is the only way these days.

It's nice to hear of satisfied customers these days.  I believe John Lewis often give good service although I haven't used them.

I hope the different tv is an improvement.

Our lass used to get all sorts from John Lewis when we lived in Norfolk (used to be Bonds of Norwich), always excellent service and always put the customer first.
Absolutely right about price comparison too, they'll beat anybody on price and customer service.

Not seen one up here, but I guess there'll be one in Leeds.
