Any Linux Boffs?
« on: 28 May 2010, 16:04:56 »

For months I have had Ubuntu on my laptop connected wirelessly to our router.
Wifes PC runs Windows XP connected by cat5 to the router. This machine also has the shared printer USB'd into it.

For some reason I am unable to 'see' the shares on the Windows machine. I am also unable to print to it.

I can ping the windows machine from the wireless Ubuntu.

Ubunto has Nautilus and Samba installed.

Tips and tricks and links please  :y :y :y

You need a Samba client running on your Linux...  ...may also need to tweak the XP security settings around NTLM2/NTLM/LanMan requirements, as well as signing requirements

Ah, just seen you have Samba running - is this the client, rather than the server?

I have Samba running on the client, Ubuntu.

The Windows machine is the server, which is the one I am trying to see/print to
