My son has an A8 with all the refinements - I'd swap it with my Omega Elite estate any day! I think its great.

So if anyone on here thinks they have a 'boring Audi' and would like to swap my Omega for their A8, just PM me pls!!

I'm thinking of buying an Audi....

need a car for the missus to drive that's :-

Estate
interesting
RWD or 4WD
not FWD
not new

early RS4 springs to mind, or even an S4

just need to make sure it doesn't have too many toys

If you want something a bit larger try S6 or dare I say it RS6(still expensive though)

Oh yeah, on the way back I saw one of the new VW coupe cars, is it the Scirocco? Not sure about German cars. It was in lime green colour, I've seen a few the same colour, must be common. Anyway, they look notoriously like a german soldiers helmet from WW2?!?! (from a certain angle)
hmmmmm .... would never admit to seeing one of these :o :o [smiley=lolk.gif] - but yea, used to work for VW/Audi dealer in Edinburgh (many moons ago) and did rate them, but havent driven any recent ones but the RS8 looks tasty  :y

Ok if you can cope with what is a small car, the A6 is probably a better option if a bit long in the tooth design wise (not changed much since 1997 with only a facelift in 2004)

Thats the other issue with the A8, its VERY long in the tooth (1994 design with no changes!)

I keep looking at later Jags.....and I hate Jags.  :-[

Well they must be doing something right....In Germany/Austria last year they were EVERYWHERE...far more than BMW's and Merc's and out on the Autobahns they were out pacing everyone.

FAR more COMMON than Omega's though... ;D ;D ;D

The problem I have with Audis these days is not the cars themselves (which are pretty good), but the people that drive them.

It used to be the case that the car tailgating you would be a BMW. Not now, it's invariably an Audi. For some reason, the marque seems to attract aggressive drivers.  :(

A6 and A8 yes, the A4 and lower are just so run of the mill sadly

I must admit that when I had my RS6 it made me drive like a tw4t because I thought everyone was in my way and was too slow! Perhaps 4.2 V8's with twin turbo's have something to answer for   ;D

with the exception of rs series and r8, imo all audies lack of something important.. excitement or enthusiasm..

they are good cars, no doubt about that , but if I'll spend that much of money there are far better examples for the same amount, that I'll wish to be in their driver seat..
