Doing it for charity
« on: 18 August 2010, 23:01:46 »

Hello All,

Please don’t get bored and not read this there is a point to it ;-)

Right I am part of a 4x4 off-road club (a few of you already know this) as well as being on this forum.

Our 4x4 team is a charity based club, and we raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Over the last 10 years the club has raised well over £60k for Macmillan Cancer Support

Every March we take part in the MAC4x4 Challenge http://www.mac4x4.co.uk/

Last year our club broke all raising records and hit just over an amazing £20,000.00 in one year.

Last year I decided to raise a little money towards our club charity fund by Dying my BRIGHT PINK, in total I raised just over £700.00 and kept it like that for 3 weeks.

Heres the good bit…………..

In 4 weeks time I am going to be dying my HAIR (What I have left of it) and GOATEE BEARD. (PERMINANT) and keeping it again for 3 weeks like this.
This year I am going for BRIGHT GREEN (Orville The Duck Colour) to match the  Macmillan Logo and my Goatee will be Dyed BRIGHT BLUE (To Match Our Club Colour)

Our Club is www.Bofa4x4.co.uk

I will keep you all informed of what is going on and I will post some amusing pictures so that you can see how I look with the Green and Blue Colours ;-)
If any of you would like to see this in person then I will be at the Abingdon 4x4 festival doing the Off-road course scrutineering. information found here :- http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1272206108/new

If anyone decides they would like to donate any little amount of money towards my fund raising event then we have a JustGiving club page set up, you can also keep tabs on what money we have raise up to date and our finishing total in March 2011.

If you are a UK taxpayer then please (tick) the Gift Aid box and the government will put an extra 28% towards your gifted amount. (So a £2.00 donation it makes £2.56) Every little helps..

To make a donation please visit the site below, when it asks for a personal message please put " IN SUPPORT OF SIMON WARNER - FROM AN OMEGA CLUB MEMBER" or something like that.... :-)

Thank you for reading

Hahaha!.....`love the idea; good on you! :y

When I read the O.P title, I was reminded of the worst chat up line that anyone ever drunkenly said to me in my youth: "Do you fancy doing 'it' for charity?" ;D

Erm ::) No!.....you can go and 'donate' on your own!! ;D

Well only 14 days to do until all my hair changes GREEN and beard changes BLUE in colour.

So far I have collected £225 in donations to do this again this year.

I have now a good beard grown and I am sure that in the next 2 weeks it is going to be much thicker so the BLUE will definately stand out.

I will keep you posted on photos on the day it gets done.

Or you can see it for real at the Abingdon 4x4 Show ;-)
