AAC/MP3 files
« on: 30 October 2010, 09:43:25 »

My understanding is that AAC is a better quality sound than MP3. When I buy on line or import from genuine cd my Itunes saves the audio files as AAC.

The cd player in the Signum seems to only want MP3 files. If I create MP3 version in Itunes to burn MP3 cds for the Signum I then of course get an AAC version AND an MP3 version in the Itunes library which is hassle to sort out and avoid duplication on the IPOD if dealing with a large number of tracks.

Is there a workaround for this?

Yes, don't play cdr's in the signum....?  :-/. Just wondering if the head units don't like it and may ware out the laser? Although not sure what head units they use?

The Signum player is supposed to be MP3 and only has one slot so a bit restrictive - anyway it is my wife's car so will claim to have done all I can and dodge the issue.
There was a problem in past in using only good quality cdrs to burn onto - might give that another look first
