I hardly dare say it but assuming there is a need for a "food taster" then his rate of £500 a day is actually quite good. If you are one of those people who still has some faith in our major political parties, or are slightly less than totally cynical about them, may I recommend you spend your christms holiday watching the box set of the utterly brilliant political comedy drama series - The Thick of it. Apart from being the funniest thing I have seen in many years - due to Peter Capaldi,s portrayal of the Alistair Cambell inspired spin doctor - the script advisor for the series was Martin Sixsmith. He was a very senior civil servant who was hung out to dry by Liebore,so we can assume that it has some basis in the reality of what goes on behind the scenes.
