I think it was a repeat as it was on quite late.

Who the hell do the police think they are? Did you see where the arrogant bald copper wouldn't listen to the drunk geordie who'd just been punched. Then he completely made up that he spat on him and used offensive language?

Then the two lads who were messing about, they hadn't committed any offence, and were given a stupid 'Direction to Leave' notice thing off the police, to vacate the city centre. This of course has no legal basis. Then when one was seen to be still in the city centre he was nicked and taken back to the copshop, but released 'without charge'!!! Just aswell, there was nothing to charge him with!

Whatever happened to freedom of movement?

Oh, the police told someone to make a complaint when they're sober! Which presumably means in the morning, knowing fine well that they won't bother then because the police don't want the work and aren't interested!

The police seem to be about containment, and just about keeping a lid on things with whatever they methods they can get away with.

What does anyone else think?

i adree some coppers are arrogant but then again look at some of the crap they have to put up with   i dont think i could stay calm when some pissed up idiot is constantly mouthing off

on the other side there is some coppers that just love the power and take the piss    so i suppose you have to look at it from both sides

yeah but the test is not losing control, remaining cool and professional, and not lowering yourself to their level, whilst being subject to that behaviour yourself.

But the worst thing of all is that they seem to think they can curtail peoples liberties arbitrarily.

Maybe some do Geoff, there will  always be a few bad apples, but the police I have worked alongside in Kent certainly don't and in fact keep a remarkable level of professionalism when being sorely provoked!

Well I can only go by what I've seen on the programme, and I'm sure before filming, the top cops would have said to the bottom cops, 'make us look good'.

I'm all for rounding people up and hoying them in the back of the van if they've done wrong, but the whole attitude seemed wrong and unacceptable.

Thats an understatement my brother-in-law(s) one a sargent other a plod wouldn't say hello to me or my wife whilst they were on duty and they wonder why we don't speak to them out of uniform at family occasions.just a pair o stuck up a-holes.
