Any good thrillers on DVD ?
« on: 20 December 2010, 15:24:42 »

I am a bit out of touch with any releases over the last 12 months. However I am going to a market later in the week where I know there will be very reasonably priced latest releases on sale.

The sort of thing I am looking for is Mission Impossible, 007 and so on films. Any good thriller really. No RomComs, daft comedies. I do however like Black Comedies like Uturn!!

Any recommendations gratefully received. :y

"Date Night" was quite funny (spoofy Bourne/Bond thing)
"Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" was excellent
"Inception" and "Shutter Island" were both good despite Leonardo DiCaprio being in both  ;D ;D

"Knight and Day"'s kind of action/thriller with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz - havent seen it but i havent heard good things...... :o

I don't think many decent fims have been released recently

Last few I liked are old (Ridley)/Anime/Pixar/ or Gran Torino.

But I do have a French action film to watch - theirs are pretty good, D13 U I think - anyway the clips look good.

The best action our BluRay player has seen are action type games, I think they are taking over as the well made entertainment.

But Hollywood is now a complete joke. Better off with UK/French/German films, and for animation Pixar are fantastic with only the good Japanese studios such as Ghibli at or above their level.

OK stuff this - buy these.

Gran Torino - EXCELLENT film.

Taxi - very funny especially if your French is OK

Spirited Away

Taken - Flipping brilliant. Liam Neeson is a proper hard ass.

Gran Torino - Watched it SO many times (last night was the last time) Clint at his best.

The Hangover - Very Very funny film.

A little bit deeper but bloody good is The Hurt Locker. Won loads of Oscars and really had us hooked.

Sure theres more but its late and my brain has started shutting down!
